Matty

Matty was found in the city and brought to the shelter. Our rescuers were appalled when they saw him. On his neck he had deep marks where he had obviously been kept on a chain for a long time – a little dog of only 5kg! In addition, he was in pain and crying … When the vet had a look at him, it was clear that he had an anal prolapse and was in agony – someone had thrown him out in this state.

Matty needed two operations as, unfortunately, it was not a simple prolapse of the intestine, but one with complications. For the rest of his life, he will need to eat special ‘gastro’ food to keep him comfortable. Apart from this, he can have a normal life and we all hope that this will happen because Matty is such a wonderful little dog, so loving and gentle…

MATTY gets along very well with other dogs, cats and people. It would be wonderful if, after such a terribly sad and painful start to life, this sweet little boy could finally enjoy the love and peace offered by a loving family …

Description

All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs please fill in an Adoption Application and our dog co-ordinator will be in contact with you very shortly to discuss your request. We aim to contact all new adoption applications within 24 hours and certainly within 48 hours.
