Blacky
At 3 months of age, Blacky was bought by a family for their children. When the parents decided they wanted a smaller dog, they sent Blacky to live with the grandparents, in the countryside.
For the next 6 months, Blacky spent his days together with another small sized dog in a former pighouse where although he was well fed, was given no attention and was often chained up. After he chased the neighbours’ chickens, the family decided they wanted rid of him so was taken in by one of our rescuers.
Blacky gets along well with both male and female dogs. He loves being with people, loves to be cuddled and enjoys meeting new people. We recommend a family with no cats, rabbits or hens because he has a tendency to chase them. It seems likely that Blacky is a black Labrador mix or similar.
Description
All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs, please fill in an Adoption Application form and one of our adoption team will be in contact with you.
