Leilani was living in a park close to where one of our rescuers works. She was very friendly and docile with all the people passing by, following them to the gates of the park then coming back to her spot under a bench. In the end her rescuer decided to take her home and find a better future for her.
When she was home a little swelling was discovered on top of her paw. It didn’t hurt her and she didn’t limp but she was taken to the vet for an x-ray to be sure. It turned out her toes had been broken on that paw, probably a couple of months earlier. The X-ray showed it had healed beautifully, in a normal position, without further problems.
Leilani is playful and friendly, docile with people, loves all dogs and is easy to handle, a real sweetheart.
All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family.
