Take, for example, the three dogs shown above. They are safe now—but heartbreakingly, many others are not so fortunate. Romania, in particular, is known for the brutal treatment of captured dogs held in public shelters. By law, dogs must be kept for 14 days, and if no adopter is found during that time, they are euthanised. This happens on a large scale and far too often.
We work closely with public shelters to reserve dogs nearing the end of their 14-day period and help cover the cost of their stay until we can move them to safety.
