Millie was found by one of the local Romanian vets and was fostered by her at her veterinary clinic. She met many people and dogs while she was living there and even became friendly with the clinic cat.

Soon Millie found a home in the UK and was adopted into an only dog household during lockdown. Although she is happy in her house and garden,  she is very reluctant to go beyond the gate and has struggled to adapt to her new home. Millie is an affectionate, responsive dog but she has become increasingly scared of the local area and we now feel Millie needs a new start in a different place with an adopter who has the time, patience and experience of nervous dogs to help her overcome her fears and who will let her take things at her own pace. Although Millie could live with another dog, she might be better as an only dog so she could be given all the attention and support she needs.

All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs, please fill in an Adoption Application form and one of our adoption team will be in contact with you. We aim to contact all new adoption applications within 48 hours. (Initial contact may be made by email, so please check your email junk folder)
