Information on the dogs we import
ABLDR are dedicated to keeping dogs safe, healthy, and protected β while also safeguarding the health and bio-security of the UK when rescuing dogs from Eastern Europe.
We believe international rescue is an act of compassion and responsibility. Our duty extends beyond saving lives to protecting adopters, veterinarians, and the wider UK dog community. Thatβs why disease prevention, transparency, and bio-security are at the heart of everything we do.
πΎ Every dog rescued through ABLDR receives:
πΆ A full veterinary health check before travel
π Up-to-date vaccinations in line with UK import regulations
π A registered microchip for lifelong identification
βοΈ All dogs are sterilised before travelling to the UK, unless age or veterinary guidance advises otherwise
π‘οΈ Careful screening for diseases that could pose a risk in the UK
π Each dog is rehomed with:
π EU Pet Passport β allowing legal travel between the UK and EU without additional health certificates
π Health Book β detailing all vaccinations, treatments, and medical history
π Import Certificate β confirming lawful and compliant entry into the UK
π Welcome Pack (PDFs) β guidance on settling in, training, and supporting your dog through their transition
π©Έ π§ͺ Strict testing for safety and peace of mind:
π©Ί Brucella Canis Testing
All dogs are tested for Brucella canis, with samples analysed by the APHA laboratory in the UK to ensure accurate, traceable, and nationally recognised results.
𧬠SNAP 4Dx Disease Screening
Tests for heartworm, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, and anaplasmosis β enabling early detection and treatment to protect other animals and the wider community.
β€οΈ A responsible rescue you can trust
With UK-based disease testing, proactive health screening, and clear guidance for adopters and foster carers, ABLDR take a careful, ethical, and transparent approach to rescue.
Our commitment to veterinary oversight and bio-security ensures every dog gets the safest possible start to their new life β while helping to protect the health of dogs, people, and communities across the UK.
