Honey

Honey was hit by a car that didn’t stop. Fortunately, a passerby saw what happened and called our rescue shelter. She was very thin and weak and her leg was badly injured. She was rushed straight to the vet who wasn’t sure whether he could save her paw and at one point, because of infection, it was thought her leg might have to be amputated. After much intervention, however, the vet managed to save her leg. She limped for a while but now some nine months later Honey is running and playing as you would expect. The only indication of the trauma she faced is a slight scar on her leg.

Although she is a large sized dog, Honey is very gentle and loving and would suit a family who are used to big dogs or guarding breeds.

Description

All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs please fill in an Adoption Application and our dog co-ordinator will be in contact with you very shortly to discuss your request. We aim to contact all new adoption applications within 24 hours and certainly within 48 hours.
