Smokey
Probably a dachshund mix, Smokey is a happy, loving little boy who brightens up the lives of everyone around him. With a wagging tail and an enthusiastic spirit, he’s always up for a game of tug-of-war or fetch, and he’ll happily play for hours. But don’t worry, he’s just as content to snuggle up next to you on the sofa for a cozy snooze.
Smokey is a well-rounded dog who enjoys his independence and quiet time, but he also adores interacting with his human family. He’s fully house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Smokey thrives on his current raw diet and is a clever boy who can sit on command and give you a paw for a tasty treat.
While Smokey may bark at strangers initially, he settles down quickly and is happy to meet new people and cuddle up with them. He does require some supervision when playing with smaller dogs due to his boisterous nature. Occasionally, he can bark at other dogs on walks, however, he walks nicely on a lead and enjoys sitting and watching the birds and squirrels.
Smokey may experience some anxiety in certain situations, like fireworks or car rides, but with patience and understanding, he’ll be a wonderful loving and loyal companion. Currently in Scotland, he can be transported to a different area of the country.

Description
All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs, please fill in an Adoption Application form and one of our adoption team will be in contact with you. We aim to contact all new adoption applications within 48 hours. (Initial contact may be made by email, so please check your email junk folder)
