Caris was adopted and all ready to get on the transport bus when she tested positive for Brucella. Her adoption had to be cancelled and she went back to her foster home. After 2 months she was tested again in Romania and her blood results came back negative. Hurrah! To confirm this her blood was sent to a lab in the UK to be tested and once again it came back negative. So we can say quite categorically that Caris does not have brucellosis and probably never did. We understand that mistakes can happen but we are sad that Caris lost her chance of a home.
Despite this disappointing start to her life, Caris has truly blossomed whilst continuing in foster care 🌼

All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family.
