Lumen
Some of our rescuers found Lumen on the side of the road, hit by a car, with fresh wounds on her back legs and limping. She was weak from hunger too and very thin. They took her to the vet who told them the limping was not from this particular hit but an older injury. An X-ray showed a broken tibia but could not do any surgery as Lumen was too weak and needed to gain some strength. When they took her back a couple of weeks later. The fracture had healed itself by 50% and the vet said she didn’t need surgery any more, it was better left. He thinks Lumen will always have a slight limp, but it won’t inconvenience her. She is a happy and active young girl, walks nicely on lead, plays with all the rescuers’ dogs and isn’t interested in the cats. Lumen is very sweet girl who loves people and loves to play.
Description
All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family.
