The Dude
The Dude was found by a teenage boy outside a village, in a ditch, surrounded by rubbish, chained to a stump and too weak to bark for help. It was his sheer luck that the boy stumbled upon him. The boy gave him water (he drank a whole bottle on the spot) and food and called our rescuers. When they arrived, the dog was too weak to stand but still had the spirit to wag his tail.
The Dude turned out to be a stunning chap, he is friendly and loyal, follows our rescuers around and lays at their feet. He is also friendly with all the other dogs and cats, and just blended into their home perfectly.
We think he was once love and cared for, but somehow that situation changed and he ended up in the hands of somebody who wanted him gone. He doesn’t look like a long time neglected dog and also his friendly nature tells us he knew kindness at some point. He looks like a golden retriever with shorter legs.
Description
All potential adopters will have to undergo a screening and home check process. This can take between 1-10 days dependant on available volunteers to perform your home check. All volunteers for ABLDR are unpaid and do this in their spare time whilst also holding down regular daytime jobs. Please be patient whilst we complete these checks. They are set to protect not only the dog but also you, the adopter, from adopting the wrong dog for your family. If you wish to adopt one of our lovely dogs, please fill in an Adoption Application form and one of our adoption team will be in contact with you.
